Dress Rehearsal for the Solar Eclipse

  • Event Description: Join us at the 12,000 Year History Park for a “dress rehearsal” to the total solar eclipse. First Night Southern Lights

  • Event Description: Southern Lights, a signature, long-term art installation by artist Chris Robinson, will span the Congaree River between the Blossom Street and Gervais Street bridges. The general public is invited to “First Night Southern Lights,” a free event hosted by the Vista Guild celebrating the premier of the installation, on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017 as part of the Total Solar Eclipse Weekend Celebrations. Attendees are invited to also walk from Coble Plaza along the path under the Gervais Street bridge and view Southern Lights from the banks of the Congaree River. Rita’s Italian Ice will offer cool Italian ices for purchase and attendees can also purchase Eclipse Pale Ale, a special collaboration between The Whig and Catawba Brewing. The South Carolina State Museum will also be open until 10 p.m. that evening.

No Bogeys at Boyd Pond

  • Event Description: The 2nd annual No Bogeys at Boyd Pond disc golf tournament is aimed to kick off yet again. Last year the event over filled with 75 players. This course, and event, tailors to the amateur level players. With an ace at this event last year that claimed over $400, the likes of another record attendance is expected. Hopelands Summer Concert Series

  • Event Description: The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department is pleased to announce the 2017 Hopelands Summer Concert Series. This year marks the 43rd season for the program. The concert series is intended to bring a variety of performances to Aiken and the surrounding area, admission is free. All those in attendance should bring a lawn chair or blanket to this free concert series. Alcohol/Wine is strictly prohibited. Picnic dinners are permitted. Well behaved pets are welcome, but must be on a leash at all times. Handicap parking is available at the Rye Patch parking lot on Berrie Rd. and the Hopelands Gardens Parking Lot on Dupree Place. Congaree Bluegrass Festival

  • Event Description: This year's Congaree Bluegrass Festival will feature top-quality bluegrass bands that performed at our very first festival ten years ago! Sunday's Gospel Bluegrass Gathering will be an afternoon filled with great food and Gospel music. Congaree Bluegrass Festival is presented by the City of Cayce and the Cayce Events Committee. Saturday's festival is $10 per adult. Cayce residents and children under 12 are free. Parking is also free. Sunday's Gospel Bluegrass Gathering is free to all.
